Master Filmmaker Akira Kurosawa

My all-time favorite Kurosawa movie is Rashoman, the first time I encountered the mutli-perspective storytelling in film.  So blown away, it wasn't until the third or fourth viewing that  I paid attention to the mastery of movement and camera dancing together on screen.  Here's the Every Frame a Painting series saying better than I ever could. Enjoy and watch some more Kurosawa.

Can movement tell a story? Sure, if you're as gifted as Akira Kurosawa. More than any other filmmaker, he had an innate understanding of movement and how to capture it onscreen. Join me today in studying the master, possibly the greatest composer of motion in film history. For educational purposes only.
